It's fun being in naturalism spacesbecause every time I hear of a guy from the 19th century who was recognized as an influential naturalist it's like "oh boy! does this one steal remains or is it eugenics this time" and it's like a solid 50/50 every time

The milky eagle owl (also known as the Verreaux's eagle owl) is one that gets me because it's such a weird little bird with a weird unique eyelids and the best we got was "oh it's going to stay named after Jules Verreaux's who just could not stop taxidermying people" like what are we doing
