A 5-star Amazon review of Adrienne's book from B. Rader:
Who would've thought that a book on code reviews could be engaging? Good communication is one of the key skills for good code reviews, so maybe I shouldn't be surprised.

This book is a great introduction to code reviews, even for those who think they know how code reviews should be done. Many developers (if not most) have been in code reviews that have benefitted them but still walked away with annoyances about how the process works. One of the key takeaways of this book for me is that each person (not just the reviewer) can take steps to make code reviews more efficient, more likely to unearth bugs or meaningful improvements, and also make the experience less socially awkward.

The book takes a balanced approach toward code reviews, recognizing that not all teams are the same size or have the same dynamics. While it focuses on the pull-request method of doing code reviews, it does encourage in-person code reviews when needed with the PR method being a kind of gateway to discovering when this is needed. The author recognizes that not every suggestion is going to be helpful or work for every team but most of the suggestions have made me think about my team's code review process in a more critical way.

I am still in process of reading this book, but so far the suggestions have been great. The foundation in the early chapters is very good and I anticipate the rest will be the same.

A 5-star Amazon review written by Pierre-Luc for Adrienne's book:

This book will help you improve your team's code review process. As a seasoned developer, I especially love the step-by-step process of building a code review standard and the need to define what is a blocker and what is not. In this book, you will find a list of PR blockers and non-blockers which is an excellent start to establish the team's working agreement.
The code review pain points are effective at taking a step back and reflecting on moments when code reviews are incorrectly done or biased, like sending a code review to someone with the same opinion as us :). Again, this section defines many pain points and has helped the team identify their biases.
Finally, this book is up-to-date with the latest software development practices and, from my point of view, should be the baseline for all software development teams.

A 5-star review for Adrienne's book written by Jeremy A. Bryan on Amazon:

Really just a fantastic and thorough work that brings together many very applicable and helpful threads of thought on the topic of code reviews and implementing sound practice. The concepts presented throughout the book are digestible, relatable and ready for adoption. Having lived through the process bringing these very practices and concepts to engineering teams it was great to see this body of work including the forward looking concepts of using AI within these processes. I would definitely recommend it to any engineering leader, tech lead or senior engineer aspiring to bring structure and rigor to their code review processes.
