DC folks actually sort of need to demand that heads roll over this. It’s a real problem if law enforcement in the capital is so pathetic, weak, and supine that their instinct is to act as stormtroopers for illicit federal power grabs.
It is not enough to say, in oversight hearings, “you are committing crimes and there will be consequences.” I want these people to see draft indictments written up, the construction of the courtroom where they’ll be tried, their proposed prison sentences.
