Was genuinely only just talking them up to a work colleague who missed out on them at the time as he had young kids. R.I.P. Josh Fauver, one of the soundest musicians I've ever met.
Absolutely sold on the description alone.
Thinking about Walt Simonson's title card for the ALIEN comics adaptation
Record shops of Copenhagen came through for me at the weekend. Could have picked up three mint copies of 'John Cale Comes Alive' if I wanted but settled for one. Three of these not on streaming so delighted to find them.
The Off Menu tasting menu episode is an all-timer. A belly laugh every thirty seconds.
Reporting from Copenhagen where the problem is the same, just with the extra problem of nearly being millses by a bike if you try to step around them. Next time I'm there I'm taking up cycling, they're just dawdling that badly.
Loved this piece on one of my favourite Replacements songs. I didn't know anything about the inspiration behind it so delighted I came across it.
Saw aya play in Copenhagen last night. Someone should really bring her to Ireland. Went from full on gabba to dark ambient and everything in between. Got this highlight from the album too.

Loved this discussion of my favourite Destroyer album. Well worth your time.
Is the image of Jesus from this not used a meme or am going mad in a Copenhagen art gallery?

Edwin Starr's draft lyrics?
"Tell Fetterman he could suck my dick/I take that back I don't want him to do that" fucking cracks me up every time.

Just scrolled all the way back on the timeline to show this to my wife who has just learned of Joyce's fart kink. I'm sad to report this didn't even elicit a smile.
Absolutely phenomenal gig. Would happily go to every date on the tour, they were that good.
Terry Oakes' 1971 album cover for "The Dragon" by Vangelis
Stereolab in Cork tomorrow night. Was told about them playing in Nancy Spain's in 1996 with Tortoise as support. Apparently a good few people left after Tortoise! Cork's love for that band runs deep. Setlist below!
Groundwork of Evangelion The Movie 2
Fantastic article from Mike! My Dad was surprised to know the kids* are into Dr. Strangely Strange as they're one of *his* bands.
*people in their thirties.
Tailteann Games revival when?
1940 Irish language scif-fi book Manannán by Máiréad Ní Ghráda
It is the first Mecha Robot outside of Japan and mention of a Gravity assist in fiction. It was never republished or translated.
Time to re/start a noisy indie guitar band after hearing this. Cross between this, Urusei Yatsura and Gumball.
2026 is the year I get really into Th' Faith Healers. I should have seen this coming, they did morph into the mighty Quickspace a few years later.
