Grappling hooks are instant fun, I think that's up next!

I make things, when I can find the time. "Things" here meaning, non-exhaustively: games (video, board, or roleplaying), programming, bad art.
Grappling hooks are instant fun, I think that's up next!
09.01.2026 00:02 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I thought about that! I held off because I think I want platforming to feel fearless, but clicking and uncovering tiles to feel scary. That said, if there are more movement options and it's easier to avoid touching the ground then maybe that's a different story.
09.01.2026 00:01 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Prototyping! Minesweeper but you have to platform around in there.
Minesweeper is my favorite roguelike so I feel like doing something goofy with it would be fun. Maybe purchasable upgrades? A double jump would add a lot. Or a grappling hook ๐ I'm gonna keep fiddling with it.

Screenshot of the BORG Wikipedia page section "In popular culture" which says the following: The 2024 Broadway adaptation of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, directed by Sam Gold, prominently featured a borg as a prop, held by Lord and Lady Capulet (portrayed by Sola Fadiran) throughout the play and used by Romeo (Kit Connor) to ingest the poison pill at the play's climax. Described by Today as "Chekhov's borg", the jug was labeled with various Shakespearean puns at each performance, including "to borg or not to borg" and "William Shakesborg".
Love this for them, "Chekhov's Borg" is gonna haunt me

06.10.2025 20:04 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I don't know your deal but are you experiencing any depression symptoms? When I finally got on an antidepressant that worked for me, I was shocked by how much better I felt physically. I thought all that vague, unplacable, daily pain was normal. It was not!

10.12.2024 14:07 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Hoo boy Bluesky absolutely devoured this one, wow.
09.12.2024 22:51 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Great question: they spiral! Made the offset bigger to show it off a little better.
09.12.2024 22:49 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0What if...fish??
Really like how this looks. It's the same underlying stuff, but each fish has a random speed variance, and a rotating offset from the mouse that they're chasing. Surprisingly does a lot to sell them looking organic.

What if the procedural snake actually looked like a snake? Hmmmmmm

Still working on this procedural animation thing.
โ
Draw it as custom polygons on the fly
โ
Give it a maximum angle so it doesn't crinkle weird and has nice curves
โStill pretty jerky when it's close to the mouse
More to do but I've learned a TON about Godot doing this.

Greetings! Iโm here, Iโm queer, and full of fear, but Iโm trying my best
14.11.2024 02:39 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Still getting to know Godot. Little procedural animation rough draft, already looks pretty good with just our default robot svg.
Hopefully Bluesky video upload will cooperate with me here? Always an adventure figuring that out.

Screenshot of a basic 2D game. A knight stands under text that reads "You Did It! You collected 13 coins." Another coin is to the knight's left.
Shaking off the game dev rust and familiarizing myself with Godot using this great tutorial: youtu.be/LOhfqjmasi0?...
Really enjoying how Godot ticks, the composition focus makes it feel a lil different and a lil funky.
every single person on the planet who is trying to make a videogame is so brave

Hi! I like to make a broad variety of things. My day job is programming. I've done some game dev in the past but a harddrive failure means I don't have much laying around.
I'm trying to get back into game dev. So watch out! This is a threat.
