I’ve been doing some digging into reports and videos from Spain to explain what’s actually happening to non-Spanish speakers.

It gets darker. 💀 According to VA @Ronie_6 on Youtube, Amazon tried to bypass the "PASAVE" (anti-AI) clause. When pros refused to sign, Amazon allegedly went to a dubbing school to use students who didn't know their rights.
They dubbed half the game before cancelling it. Predatory behavior.

I’ve been told that Spanish dubbing associations are getting in touch with associations from other European countries that are receiving the dub, and that once everything is 100% confirmed, they’ll make it public. As soon as I hear anything, I’ll let you know.

This isn't just about missing a Spanish or Italian voice track. It’s about Amazon using Tomb Raider as leverage to break labor standards.
If you care about quality or human art, you should be worried. Lara Croft deserves better than being used as a bargaining chip.
Amazon isn't hiding their strategy. They recently got caught using "Beta" AI dubbing for anime like Banana Fish.
They want to normalize AI voices. If human actors in Spain or Italy resist, Amazon would rather launch a silent game than hire them without AI rights.
These contracts demand that actors hand over their voice rights so Amazon can train AI models.
Since the actor unions said "No" to being cloned, Amazon seems to be punishing the market by removing the dub entirely. It’s a standoff.
So why the blackout in these specific countries? It isn't just "budget cuts".
The common link between Spain and Italy is the strong pushback from actor unions against AI. Actors and unions in these regions are refusing to sign Amazon's new "AI clauses."
We really need to talk about Poland. Polish players aren't just losing the dub; they aren't even getting text localization.
This is insane because Flying Wild Hog , one of the main studios developing the game, is literally Polish. Make it make sense.
First, let's look at the official site. It says the game will have full audio/text for English, French, German, LATAM Spanish... but for Italian, Spanish (Spain) and Japanese? Only text.
This ends an almost 30 year tradition of dubbing in these regions.
