That Jeopardy skit on SNL with Bad Bunny was a metacommentary on immigrant/minority life: you have the capabilities, but you don’t get credit due to some random rule you don’t fully understand, and someone else seizes on your solutions and profits from them. Also, the condescension.

The issue I have with this article is that it mixes up timeframes. The pop-culture references the writer makes are primarily from the 1970s and a bit in the 1980s. That Epstein book is from 2003, by which point attitudes had shifted, even if the men in Epstein’s book were stuck in the before-times.
