VitePWA loses me quick π«£
I've been looking at workbox a good bit today so maybe a journey will begin for me. idk haha
this is by far the nicest one I have used. Wish the implementation was just a package as a vite plugin or something. would make things so nice.
08.11.2025 21:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I look into Capacitor and Ionic again. Just doing some discovery right now. Thanks for suggesting it!
08.11.2025 20:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Can you explain what you mean more by "writing against the platform"? I like the enhance examples I have seen I am thinking offline too which maybe that's what is being said here. Just explaining for context
08.11.2025 17:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And some of these I haven't built yet cause the initial experience of setting up a pwa was just so painful for one app I built, a journaling app for a community, I just can't bring myself to do it again π
08.11.2025 17:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's not so much about sync. I love InstantDB, Automerge, Convex, Dexie and a few others.
Mostly just the offline setup for users the dynamic nature of the app still working as expected. Lots of these are small journaling, reflections, little games where being online doesn't need to be there.
And not just the generic setup but more so wanting things to work offline as expected (which I realize varies widely depending on the app)
The closes thing I think there is to this currently is how sveltekit handles pwa's with its compiler.
I feel bluesky may be the only place that has developers who care about this answer
Are there any tools out there that radically simplify building PWA's? Wasn't sure if @bell.bz would know of some.
I really don't want to go down the expo route and use react native for a mobile app, would love pwa
The introduction in βOn Writing Wellβ is one of the most concise encapsulations of so many professions and societal trends.
Make a medium easier, good gets better, bad gets worse.
Thank you! Don't mind the advice at all. Patience with myself is something I am also working on and am really bad at. Working on 'self talk' to also try to work through and have some freedom in it! Thanks Jason!
03.11.2025 16:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just purchased. Also have recently started adhd meds in hopes it helps me as well. Trying to use all the tools at my disposal cause it is something I am desperate to have some measure of victory in.
Thanks for sharing the book recommendation!
When they have that kind of "whiplash" moment and ask "wait, how did we get here?"
Then you try to follow the train of thought haha
Or maybe I could just be the physical one π€¦ββοΈ
Holy smokes, who even am I?

Me to myself right now:
I'm gonna build a sales safari chrome extension that is a browser MotivAider for myself
Every few seconds, get a gentle visual/auditory nudge to remind myself "Hey, are you thinking about ideas or are you reading people's pain?"
"Are you validating a perceived pain or real pain?"
I literally found myself today frustrated with a given scenario, and messaged a friend and said, give me a good idea
I know better. But it is so so easy to think the right idea brings the desired outcomes.
In today's world you don't drift into proven processes, you drift into slop. Cultivating and working the muscles to not drift off track is so, so hard.
03.11.2025 15:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So much of life is spent approaching it as "if I just had the right idea" only to then realize no one wants the idea but to then have a devil/angel bickering inside over "I just need to make money" to then be led back to "I need a good idea".
Must....break....free...
This is what @amyhoy.bsky.social refers to as the fail cycle I believe.
To have the wisdom of amy and @alexhillman.com in their 30x500 course but slip into ideas 95% of the time.
I need a MotivAider that Kathy Sierra mentions in her book to gently nudge me every 30seconds to forget ideas
Oh the internal agony of this cycle:
think I must have a good idea to make money -> no one wants the idea -> think I need a better idea -> get fed up and just need to make money -> slightly begin the process -> start trying to find the best idea again -> realize no one wants it -> and on and on
Our favorite episodes are Last Night Gus and Office Space! I donβt mind the Yang/Yin episodes but not my favorite. But like you say, they are still silly π
02.11.2025 22:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Psych is a go to for me. Seasons 4-7 have a more unhinged Gus, mostly 5-6 and itβs incredible
02.11.2025 21:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβve tried ADHD meds before and it is now becoming a reality for me that they all have probably actually worked but because I forget to drink water and had unbearable headaches I thought they were ineffective

Can we get people responding to bring awareness of work people are doing around cancer?
Experimental places
Tech advances
Anything else like this
1) trying to find places for friends
2) just feels a big lack of awareness of what is being done around it (maybe just me)
Do you ever think about how far you would be along if you just follow directions and paths laid out for you by those who know what they are talking about?
I do and it haunts me and we are past halloween
But also....I feel I am on somewhat of a fun similar path using React 3 Fiber (I could probably move to ThreeJS) and Inngest.
Inngest for realtime and durable functions for retrying AI and publishing AI responses to the UI and updating 3D models on screen
Subtle UI changes but getting there
Well my first thought is "it makes sense an interesting/inspiring AI implementation came outside of the US."
We cursed with trying to agent-tize everything to death
Wow. To here you say "this talk completely changed my stance on the ai hype today..." merits a watch!
Will look into it!
@pvh.ca and @martin.kleppmann.com found out about this today from fly.io!

I was joking with the βgetting atβ π
I think it was fall 2022. Approached it all wrong at the time and really have struggled to not come initially with idea validation
