The Largest Digital Collection We've Seen!
YouTube video by Splat Attack Podcast The Largest Digital Collection We've Seen!

Although Splat Attack is produced by ’90s kids and (primarily) for ’90s kids and ’90s kids at heart, this month’s installment of Collectors Corner has some items that would appeal to our parents and others to our Gen Z brethren as well.

A reminder that the Rhode Island gubernatorial election is this year!! 🗳️

Many Rhode Islanders who rely on RIPTA to get around have been severely impacted by service cuts. Our state deserves leaders who won’t throw riders under the bus. We need leaders who will commit to properly funding transit. 🚌

The All-American Legacy of Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show The Super Bowl halftime show has long been a magnet for culture-war controversy. For Bad Bunny, that meant that a performance about love and togetherness led to a lot of extremely hurt feelings.

My pick for this piece's MVP (most valuable phrase): "staggering economy of eyeballs"

Happy World Pizza Day to those who celebrate. (Though personally, I'll wait to observe until Friday and cannot, for the life of me, understand why this occasion doesn't always fall at *that* point in the week.)

Frankenstein’s monster actors who also performed on ’90s Nickelodeon In late January, barely two years after releasing their belated Good Burger sequel, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell confirmed they are…

Following last month's "Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein" announcement, I had an itch to find out how many actors have played Frankenstein's monster and performed on a '90s Nickelodeon show.

It turns out there were quite a few.

As someone who once followed an adolescence dream into daily sportswriting, I can vouch for your first sentence.

And if I must single out any one part of Sally's article, it is the sage directive to "look with a hard eye, write vividly and observationally, and hit our deadlines no matter what."

Happy Roger Williams and Anne Hutchinson Feast Day.

For the uninitiated, those two colonial leaders settled key locations in what came to be Rhode Island, and their ahead-of-the-times stances on separation of church and state, feminism, and race relations are especially worth remembering today.

I'm thinking of Jeffrey Marx, a one-time WaPo writer whose book, Season of Life, centers on NFL player turned HS football coach and pastor Joe Ehrmann, who talks about Men Built for Others versus Men Built for Themselves.

Between WaPo and Amazon, a certain someone surely falls into the latter camp.

Like I just posted, maybe this is my lack of business and economic knowledge talking, but something tells me the Washington Post, of all papers, could afford to sustain a sports section rivaling that of the golden-age Boston Globe...if the movers and shakers wanted it to.

I'd genuinely like to ask any business/economics experts to weigh in here: With an owner like Bezos, shouldn't WaPo be able to (among many other amenities) field a sports section on a par with the legendary Boston Globe staff of the mid-'70s-to-early-'80s?

FWIW, while the media industry is an imploding nightmare that makes one question why they ever wanted to do this for a living, @awfulannouncing.bsky.social is going strong, always accepting pitches for sports media-related stories, and is not owned by any billionaires. Yet.

I see Kershaw has a nationwide empire, but it's still a little puzzling that he's the only non-Crochet choice of any New England states.

Seeing how we're not just talking about active hurlers (see Nolan Ryan in OK), I might have expected Pedro Martinez for Vermont and Roger Clemens for Connecticut.

New England Sports Network: 40 years of sticking to a name Built around a dual Red Sox-Bruins nucleus, NESN has constantly kept all of New England on its mind and its air.

Uncertainty as to the future of regional sports networks - particularly those under the FanDuel (nee Bally, nee Fox Sports Net) conglomerate reminds us of the rarity that is the New England Sports Network.

Two years ago, I dove deep into that for NESN's 40th anniversary.
