GDP projected loses are ranging from -0.1% to -0.3%. Even if you double those figures (i.e 20% tariff instead of 10%), you are still nowhere anywhere close to 5% impact of Brexit. Still believe we’re better off being out of EU with our 10% tariff?
The tariffs imposed by US are largely arbitrary as proven by high tariffs on islands with zero inhabitants. GDP loss due to Brexit is circa 5% (OBR), whereas the forecasted impact from US tariffs is fractional by comparison.
Short sighted…what if Trump changes his mind (as he does) and wants to inflict 20% or greater on the UK because he has a petulant tantrum in the future? We are insignificant to him and hold no cards against the US. China and EU are massive economies, so can push back and negotiate.

Absolutely agree…I was being a bit tongue in cheek and oversimplifying, but totally aligned that many high IQ people are also taken in by right wing divisive rhetoric (esp. if it supports their existing deep rooted bias towards race, gender, etc)
