They are literally firing all the judges they think might grant relief. They just fired a friend of mine a couple hours ago. They have no shame. The bastards want an assembly line for deportations and nothing more; rubber-stamping bootlickers who’ll yes’sir at every new diktat to deny.

If you start by saying how many people you are going to arrest, the entire operation should be enjoined. That’s not how anything should work.

Another point: the Trump admin is REALLY using terrorist designation a lot this term. Unprecedented increase in FTOs.

There are now 90 groups on the Foreign Terrorist Organization list. In the mid-2010s, there were around 60 FTOs.

You know how Disney adults can spot a hidden Mickey Mouse head from a thousand yards? I’m like that but with swastikas

THREAD: Judge Ellis is the first federal judge to review extensive body cam video of DHS's actions in Chicago. She finds that DHS *repeatedly* misled the public and made claims that were disproven by agents' own videos.

I'll go through some of the most egregious ones here.

U.S. Coast Guard will no longer classify swastikas, nooses as hate symbols The military service, which falls under the Department of Homeland Security, has drafted a new policy that classifies such items “potentially divisive.”

So much for the Trump administration's alleged concern abt antisemitism. New Coast Guard (under DHS) policy now says swastikas and nooses are no longer considered hate symbols but just "potentially divisive." Coast Guard/DHS Officials refuse to respond.

Years ago I wrote a paper on "the fappening" (celeb nude photo leaks) and young men's sense of entitlement to women's nude bodies. The slogan "AI Girls Never Say No" is beyond disgusting and tells us a lot about how this user base views women: as goods, trophies, possessions, not people

What would be super awesome is if some computer nerd could come up with a comprehensive list of all the unsolicited AI services we're having crammed down our throats and clear instructions for how to disable them.

This is, of course, a stark betrayal of the New School’s storied history and animating spirit. It demonstrates something many of us know intellectually but have trouble grasping: many university leaders *do not care* about, even *actively despise*, the basic values that bring us to work every day.

*Every single* institution, organization, and individual who caved into Trump already looks worse for having done so.

And every one that stood up continues to look better.

Screenshot from the survey results.
"What opportunities do you see in integrating AI into academic programs or student learning?
~70-75% express negative or highly cautious views about integrating AI (concerns about de-skilling, plagiarism, ethics, and premature initiatives).
~20–25% see constructive or conditional opportunities (AI literacy, research tools, ethics education, or advanced applications).
~5% or less are strongly supportive or already integrating AI enthusiastically."

A histogram of responses to a faculty survey, asking how important the AI priority is to faculty. 5 point likert-like scale, where 1 is not important and 5 is extremely important

My university has made a huge AI push. They decided to survey the faculty to see what they think of this priority.
Twice as many faculty reported "not important" as any other response.
I wonder if this will change anything...

I usually reserve such matters for ye ol LinkedIn, but our cyber institute is hiring a lot—3 positions now—ranging from $60-90k and at all education levels (PhD not required).

They’re flexible but in-person roles, based at the Ohio Cyber Range Institute, at the University of Cincinnati.

DMs open.
