Happy International Women's Day to my #STEMM girlies. Keep blazing trails, taking up space and healing the world.

I was here when the internet was text based and you dialed into a Unix server to access it. I'm the generation where emojis where made up of characters ;) and we invented text speak. I still miss Usenet newsgroups.
Survived till Friday of the first teaching week of the semester with the usual weird and crazy unexpected catastrophes taken in stride.
Had two papers accepted for publication in a journal and an international conference. (There's half of 2026's research metrics ticked off). Thanks team.
Making shopping bags for my boy who has his own house now. Having fun upcycling old table cloths and oddments of knitting. Starting 2026 with making.
Today's indigenous research collaboration involved a paddock and a small herd of goats. Not sure the goats had a lot to contribute to the writing process though.
I’m proud of the chapter I wrote for "The Making Academic: Perspectives on Expressive Practice and Wellbeing in Higher Education". Part rant about academic metrics, part prayer about knitting as creative practice for #Wellbeing.
Available now via Routledge.

Got to do maths live on the radio today with Clement the Clairvoyant pig on ABC Gippsland. What are the odds he's correctly picked two of the of the final four AFL teams, Hawks and Brisbane? About 1 in 750,000.
Do you actually want/need to know what is being used for stats other than R? Happy to share what's in common use. Agree there's no standard.
Spent the day playing and dreaming curriculum with my indigenous co-conspirator. My brain is all happily bubbly.
