Two seedling trays filled with broccoli, cabbage, lettuce, kale, and peppers on a black outdoor table.

It's 65 °F and sunny out today 😍

Thank you for the tips!! Do you scarify and/or stratify them as well??

Also, why wait until they are almost root bound to move them?

I can't wait for all the snow to finally melt. I'm hoping to see grass this week πŸ˜…

Passionflower seeds cold stratifying in moist sand inside a plastic sandwich baggy. The baggy is dated December 30.

This is my second attempt at growing passionflower from seed (Passiflora incarnata). None of the seeds germinated last year.

This year I scarified the seeds and cold stratified them in the fridge.

Now I'm going to put them on a heat mat and hope for the best 🀞🌱

I transplanted the cabbage and broccoli seedlings into bigger soil blocks. I'm going to move them outside next week to start hardening off 🌱

My beds still have about 6 inches of snow on them but it's supposed to be in the 60s this week πŸŽ‰

Oh interesting! I don't know much about it outside of my general studies. I will have to do some research!

I've never used it, but from what I read it's very drying and anti-inflammatory.

I've seen a lot of tincture blends with it for coughs and congestion. It's also used in blends with marshmallow and corn silk for UTIs.

Yes and they run a tight ship! They don't seem to mind the eagles too much but they do not allow hawks to get too comfy lol

Oh thanks! It does look like a red shouldered hawk!

A hawk sitting on a bare tree branch. Out of frame are about a dozen smaller birds and crows circling the tree.

I'm terrible at bird ID - I think this is a Coopers Hawk?

The crows are not happy about this visitor.

They attract so many butterflies, bees, and birds. Goldfinches love them.
