Important update Thanks to the sheer volume of citizens raising their voices in opposition, the Danish Presidency has been forced to update its Chat Control compromise text to include the following recital:
 "(17a) Nothing in this Regulation should be understood as imposing any detection obligations on providers." 
 The final proposal 15318/25 containing recital 17a is now heading for Coreper (Committee of Permanent Representations). Once approved, the position formally adopted by Council will thus exclude mandatory scanning. Council is expected to officially adopt its position the 18th or 19th. We should then expect trilogue to commence. Next steps While this presents a “quick fix” in response to public pressure that legally is not a good solution, it is a much better position than before and one that can be worked with. The multiple flaws and inconsistencies that remain (e.g. mandatory age verification effectively outlawing anonymous communication and planned “voluntary” mass scanning) can be amended during trilogue with the European Parliament. While Danish Minister of Justice and Chief Architect of Chat Control Peter Hummelgaard, and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, are likely to attempt an expedited process, a deal is unlikely to be reached in December. I'm watching an adult creator get systematically cut off from every income stream by payment processors and now debankment could be on the table. She makes legal content. They are trying to shut her up and hope that we'll shut up too.

We must get louder. Call Visa and MC. Tell them this will stop.

I've gotten enough help to cover the security deposit so I'll be good the first month, I'm still worried about after that. The place is more expensive and doesn't include internet. I just need to survive until I can get in with a housing program I've applied to.

I sadly don't have a whole lot of money to spare at the moment, but I've sent a bit your way.

I've been trying to get disability due to my anxiety/depression since October, 2021. In that time I've been homeless, lost my job, all while fighting social security to get a fair hearing. I recently got a letter from the state to expect contact from a judge in the near future. On 10/20/2025 I got a 90 day notice from my landlord. The building has a roach problem and the landlord is kicking out everyone in the affected apartments so he can tear the place apart. Unfortunately that leaves me looking for a new place to live. I've been paying $450/mo with everything plus internet included and I doubt I could afford much more. I'm on food stamps for groceries, and public assistance which is only $350/mo plus whatever else I can get to make up the difference for rent. I'm going to need money to move, plus security deposit and first month's rent at any new place. I'm not sure how much I'll need total, but if you can help at all I'd sincerely appreciate it. By the end of the month I need $475 for security deposit on top of moving costs (truck rental, etc). On top of that, I rely on SNAP, which I'm not getting because of trump. So any extra I'd get would go towards food.
