This is the most Minnesota thing ever, but this time, seriously.

A 23-year-old US citizen was detained by ICE for two days. During the arrest, she was called a racial slur and suffered a concussion.

Abuse, by definition is traumatizing, no matter it’s delivery

I do want to add, this is a general question to a very nuanced problem.

Physical abuse can also have long lasting psychological traumas that are incredibly damaging inc PTSD.

Psychological abuse, in some case cases can be treated to lessen with therapy.

Or it can become C/PTSD.

And the biggest thing is that psychological abuse is invisible (without a specific MRI request), and much like people with invisible disabilities, they don’t get as much support, or belief because you can’t see a physical representation of the damage and trauma.
Exhibit A: anyone with PTSD or CPTSD

No, psychological abuse is no less damaging or harmful than physical

There are studies that show that psychological abuse, are just as harmful as physical abuse

There is a dialogue that downplays the severity of impact psych abuse because it doesn’t leave physical trace, it isn’t as “important”
