A brief montage of the recently fledged kingfishers along the riverbed. Part of a local project I've been working on in the village, capturing the hidden life of this micro habitat.

All the more rewarding Nick because you are exploring your local patch and these fantastic images are the results of your patience and field craft.
Beautiful footage Nick.
And you Darren. Thanks for the company.
The Juvenile Black Stork at rspb.bsky.social Boyton Marshes showed very well today while it foraged and fed along the dyke.

My birding highlights of a sunny afternoon walk between Kynance Cove and The Lizard, Cornwall, today were a flock of at least 10 Choughs, 2 Wheatears, Rock Pipits, Linnets and a Raven. #ukbirding
My highlights from a visit to the Otter Trust Dickleburgh Moor Nature Reserve in Norfolk were the obliging juvenile Temminck's Stint, 2 Green Sandpipers, 1 Common Sandpiper and a Yellow Wagtail. #UKBirding
Hi Leigh.
@rspb.bsky.social Minsmere and Lakenheath Fen in Suffolk are two great reserves, as is Titchwell in Norfolk.
Cley Marshes in Norfolk is also fabulous (Norfolk Wildlife Trust).
You should see a range of passerine plus waders etc.
This Osprey youngster at Rutland Water looked close to fledging today.
Certainly lots of wing flapping flight prep going on!
It was fabulous to see the parents catching fish and feeding the chick.

Some glorious weather (at last!) for my late visit @btobirds.bsky.social Breeding Bird Survey on arable farmland in Suffolk. Yellowhammers, Skylark, Chiffchaff, Blackcaps, Chaffinch and Whitethroats were all very vocal, almost as if they were welcoming the sunshine with their song π. #ukbirding
A lovely trip to @rspb.bsky.social Bempton Cliffs today.
It was encouraging to see so many Gannets and Guillemots. #ukbirding
It was my first visit to #RSPB Ouse Fen, Cambs, over the weekend. A lovely reserve with reedbeds and pools. I had close views of the long staying Great Reed Warbler, that was constantly calling. Other highlights were a showy Grasshopper Warbler, 2 Marsh Harriers, Bittern and a Hobby. #ukbirding
Sounds like a fabulous day, Kelsey. Always a thrill to see a lifer!
Yes please Daryll Marie, thanks.
The highlights of a dawn chorus walk in Suffolk woodland today were 4 Nightingales, 7 Garden Warblers, Common and Lesser Whitethroat, Nuthatch, Marsh Tit and Mistle Thrush. Isn't a sunny spring morning spent birding just the best thing? #ukbirding
The highlights of my first @btobirds.bsky.social Breeding Bird Survey in an arable Suffolk landscape, were:
Reed Bunting, Common and Lesser Whitethroat, Blackcaps, Linnets, Skylarks and Yellowhammers. They were all busy singing and displaying, despite the chilly conditions. #UKbirding
Back from a fabulous few days at the Straits of Gibraltar Bird Observatory #gonhs
It was a privilege to see the fantastic work carried out by the ringers. Highlights included Woodchat Shrike and Scops Owl.
