Hoping to reach journalists/editors:
- When you're writing about legislation, whether proposed or enacted, include a link to official info page on the bill.
- When you're writing about research, include a link to the study.
Why? I'll read your work before a piece by someone who doesn't do this.
Additional note: Our whole team teleworks, with quarterly in-person all-staff meetings. We have one cluster in Olympia, another in Seattle, so it's also possible to see people in person at other times. 😆 You can live anywhere in the state and be on the team.

Great analysis but it's 13 years old. If you have links to more recent analysis on these lines it would be great to share those too.
You may ask yourself, "Where does that highway go to?"
And you may ask yourself, "Am I right, am I wrong?"
And you may say to yourself, "My God, what have I done?"

Really love this series of old transportation study covers @rmartincole.bsky.social shares in this thread. "The carless" have been with us forever--and yet we still haven't solved the problems of getting around without a vehicle. Maybe it's time we did that.

What you see and hear depends a good deal on where you are standing: it also depends on what sort of person you are.

Example of the critical thinking we need to place crash types and devices into the larger context of traffic safety. The biggest issues on our streets are the biggest things on our streets, period.

I'll check in with my team. Not a graphic, but this great video from BikeSafe at the KIDZ Neuroscience Center illustrates infrastructure types and potential conflicts youtu.be/jCeSeUBmXwE?....

What a gorgeous bridge! With room for everyone to travel in comfort.
Hi! Did you receive an e-bike rebate last year (provided thru @wsdot.wa.gov) and use it to purchase a bike? I’d love to chat with you about how e-bike access affected your travel habits and options, for the WSDOT Blog! Please DM me here or contact Hannah dot Weinberger at WSDOT dot WA dot gov.

I grew up with this phenomenon in a house with a basement and 2 floors. Thank you for giving it the light of day it deserves.
(To this day, I set things down halfway to their destination, and I live in a small one-level house.)
Just give me a world where we can walk/roll to most things. That’s it.
Not one but two very nice bus drivers for Intercity Transit helped me make a tight connection this morning. I heart bus drivers! 🚌🥳
It is literally life and death if you speed
Happy Black Friday, the day for:
- appreciating the silky softness of my cat's fur as he snoozes on my lap
- reading poetry
- sipping hot coffee
- looking at trees
- looking at the sky
- leisurely cooking
- doing some gentle yoga
- possibly napping
“It’s cold today—so much for global warming!”
Weather is like your mood, while climate is your personality. One cold day doesn’t disprove global trends. In fact, warming can even disrupt weather patterns and cause some of the wild swings we see today!
