Winding, curving, cutting
through vast golden hills,
and emerald tree laden valleys.
Spilling over rocks and boulders,
she tunes her thunderous harp.
Fin and scaled kin ever they flow,
in her magic waters dost they grow.
Winding, curving, cutting.
No end and nary a beginning.
One day I’ll sing her a love song.
Crashing, flowing, tumbling
Waves of the ocean
Waves of the mind
Recede on the breeze
Coolness enters my being
Ever in motion
Crashing, flowing, tumbling
Hail Crodo, Hail Seater 🙏🏻
Leaves sway in the wind
Cool rain upon bare skin
Come away, come away
Harken the Thunderer’s music
Sit in repose, settle, sit within
This has been a really great summer angling for wild browns and apache trout ❤️
An update:
I’ve been teaching my oldest these phrases and she’s picking it up rather quickly.
I’m not Apache but my children are. I have a vested interest in keeping this language alive in them.
Also, while in this class I’ve been learning different phrases along with the students by using body movement to go along with these new words. Pretty ingenious! I’ve found it’s been sticking in my mind better.
I brought this up to the teacher and added that this pictogram is also found in Northern Europe. He agreed and said it’s found all over the world. He may not know what it means exactly but he found it to be invaluable as an instructional aid.
The last two days I’ve been helping out in the Apache language class and noticed the teacher was using the ⴲ symbol as an instructional tool.
I’ve seen this symbol used in traditional ceremonies and from what I gather, it’s how Apache people conceptualize their world view.
We descend upon the land
Like a thunderous wave
With forged tools in hand
Undaunted, we be the brave
We will make a new day,
Unbent, joyously into the fray
Sons of The Striker
Sons of the Thunderer
Just moments before this, this little cutie threw my net into the stream and I darted off after it. Good thing I had my waders on 🤘🏻
This possibly indicates the idea that there's a bit of the divine within everyone. My own thinking on this of course.
Interesting that Wally states the Diné are the children of The Holy People. I can’t help but draw parallels to the tales in the Eddas. Kings would claim descendancy from Odin or Freyr. Different Germanic tribes claimed to be children of their patron deity.

Does anyone know if it’s good? What movies would you suggest that’s appropriate for children and that are like the movies I mentioned but are centered around European folklore?
I seem to remember that there’s an Irish director, Tom Moore, who has produced some animated films comparable to Miyazaki that’s filled/centered around Irish folklore - Wolfwalkers.
Thinking about whether or not Disney has produced anything comparable, Brave, Moana, and the Frozen movies come to mind. Which I actually quite enjoy for their storytelling, morals and spiritual aspects tied into the films.
My little girl absolutely loves the Miyazaki films: My Neighbor Totoro, Ponyo, and Kiki’s Delivery service. My personal favorite is Princess Mononoke. They’re fantastic stories with unique characters, and what’s more is that they incorporate animist elements in them.
Turning this into a proper necklace
It’s a trash heap but it is entertaining
My great aunt made my mom and I gumbo when we went to visit her in Louisiana. I remember crying afterwards 😭🥵
My “f#ck you” letter is still a work in progress.
After I seriously started giving offerings and praying, I started receiving visions. Not all of the time. But when they happen, they are quite powerful and memorable.

Solar Cross came in today 🤙🏻
Cheers and Merry Christmas
To stand against the tempest.
The raging seas and blackened sky.
Calm, resolute, immutable.
Mountainous truth,
Never to be torn asunder.
We come, O lo do we come!
With stars to tell the way,
through crashing waves,
and the creeping deep.
Through grim countenance,
a light within beckons.
For dawn is upon us,
and the raven comes calling.
