this is NOT comparing the eng dub to the jpn dub btw it’s comparing dub to subtitles like……the ppl who translate subtitles are Not the same as who write the script in english to convey the same meaning while following local language conventions

low key it’s always a little funny to me when ppl circulate a screenshot of anime with the subtitles for the japanese dub like i get it but at the same time i’ve always watched dubs and so often i’m like hm :~) the way they restructured that sentence was way better in the eng dub lmao
