Outer 50 year old would much prefer Nick Cave...
WTactualF?
I've either slipped through a time portal to 1981, or I'm having a mid-life crisis. Basing som old Citadel Traveller 15mm adventurers listening to Led Zeppelin, and Blue Oyster Cult. My inner 14 year old is very content. The outer 50+ year old is confused.
Did you know our latest acquisition – Cromwell’s watch – was sketched for the Gentleman’s Magazine in 1808? Dating to c.1645, this item is now on permanent display, made possible by grants from @HeritageFundUK, @artfund and public crowdfunding. Visit us to see it for yourself! 😀
By the talented Angus McKie. Might have to investigate some of his graphic novels
And, yes, I have fallen through a classic Traveller wormhole
Is this the best White Dwarf cover ever? Certainly my favourite
When you see the prices some of these are going for on fleabay, it is slightly depressing. (GW ad, WD23 circa Feb 1981)
Wait till someone points out that the pre-decimal system is based on Roman money. Blooming foreign money (!), perhaps he'll be in such a quandary, he'll implode. 😉 Here's hoping
Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! ❤️
Read them all with the exception of the last one. Bought on the day of release. Sits on the shelf unread. Don't know if I will ever read it, as when I do, that's it. Discworld stories are finished.
There's a whole range of Discworld miniatures and busts from Micro Art Studios. Picked mine up from Element Games.
In other news I painted something biggerer than true 15mm. Fair to say I was giddy with the expanse of colour. (In case you are wondering, it's a pub quiz team mascot)
Agreed, probably the best adaptation of one of his novels. I've found it difficult to find on streaming platforms in the UK.
I'm the same. Can't touch oat milk but can eat oats.
Always find it irritating when I go into a coffee shop and ask if they have soya milk and they reply "no we have oat milk". They are not the same!
So good to see a historical palette being used, rather than ridiculous bright blue contrast paint floppy hats.

A few little updates for the #ECWtravelogue entry for Nottinghamshire. #Warsof3Kingdoms #EnglishCivilWar #BritishCivilWars www.keepyourpowderdry.co.uk/2020/07/hous...
Red bubble. Searched for "Parliamentarian flag cushion", there's Royalist ones too
In other news, the painting chair has had an upgrade
Yes, I know that it didn't matter. But it irked me: who in their right mind buys a different brand (with noticeable size difference) command figures for their line infantry? The pose difference was down to buying the wrong code, using a postal order of course.
More happy about this than I should be
46 years ago I built my first 'serious' Napoleonic French army using the beautiful Heritage Napoleonettes. For some reason there was some mismatched poses and command figures from Jacobite. Today I am proud to have corrected that error - all matching poses in unit, Napoleonette command, +4 new regts
Here's something to brighten back-to-work-after-the-holdays day. An #ECWtravelogue outing to the Highlands & Islands #Warsof3Kingdoms #BritishCivilWars #EnglishCivilWar www.keepyourpowderdry.co.uk/2026/01/hous...
I'm getting a bit carried away - keep finding 40 year old 15mm Napoleonettes. Found oodles of cavalry, but only really interested in infantry. 3 new French line regiments to paint. Just a handful of figures away from 3 more French infantry regiments... or possibly 4.
Today I have mostly been thinking about and tracking down 40 year old OOP 15mm Napoleonics. And eating Christmas treats. Maybe I should have gone for a walk instead
Happy bloggiversary, KeepYourPowderDry has made it to 8! www.keepyourpowderdry.co.uk/2025/12/keep...
'Tis the season of 'Cromwell banned Christmas' so time for the annual 'that's a load of rubbish' clarification www.keepyourpowderdry.co.uk/2017/12/is-c...
