This past weekend, the Trash Party had their biggest litter cleanup of the year collecting over 4,000 pounds of trash. That is two tons (or the equivalent of a white rhino)!

Our July 2025 cleanup totals are in and our rockstar volunteers did not let the heat stop them from more than doubling the amount of litter they collected compared to last year. Way to go!

Only a few more weeks of summer programs before we are back in the classrooms teaching kids the importance of reduce, reuse, and recycle!

Our friends with Clear Creeks and Byways continue to impress with their cleanup efforts in and around our waterways. One of the their recent cleanups helped pick up 27 bags of litter, a couch, and a tire—preventing those items from entering the Scioto River.

Part of Columbus Litter League, employees from Huntington Bank went out to cleanup around 161 and Cleveland Avenue last weekend—resulting in picking up 17 bags of trash!

Last night, players from Columbus Litter League enjoyed their first Columbus Clippers game of the season. Thanks to our sponsor, Rumpke Waste and Recycling, for helping appreciate the efforts of these dedicated litter picker-uppers!

Power washing the @columbusdps.bsky.social Food Scraps Drop-Off bins once a week for that fresh, clean collection.

Partnering together, staff and volunteers helped save 800+ lbs of food at Jazz & Ribs Fest, ensuring the event wrap-up fed people instead of landfills. Efforts like this show the importance of collaboration and community to address food waste, food insecurity, and climate change.

US Vacation Renters Waste $2 Billion Worth of Food Annually A new study values the food wasted by U.S. vacation renters at about $2 billion each year. 

Taking a vacation? A new OSU study notes that the average person on vacation wastes $12 a day on food. With food waste contributing to climate change, being mindful of your waste is an easy action to take.

Thinking about the over 780 pounds of food we helped rescue at last year’s Jazz & Ribs Fest as we prepare for this year’s rescue operation this Sunday.

We got Columbus Litter League Scores! ⚾ Our top three teams at the moment are Keep It Clean, LYFE Savers, and Clear Creeks and Byways. To date, all teams combined have collected a home run worthy 1,609 bags of trash and we aren't even halfway through the season!

Our rain barrel workshop and giveaway with Coca-Cola Consolidated was a resounding success this past weekend!
