Why a radical ‘new almshouse’ won the Stirling prize Appleby Blue, an elegant building in Bermondsey containing 59 flats for the over-65s, aims to provide homes that are sociable, enjoyable and serene

This is a really great choice. Such love in the room when it was announced #stirlingprize

Even if you’re not a person of faith, there are reasons to see Antoni Gaudí as a saint | Rowan Moore The Catholic church has taken the first steps to canonise the architect of Barcelona’s extraordinary Sagrada Família

"In a debate that affects the lives of many and sometimes vulnerable people, a bit more honesty would help."

Last Friday I finished reading Property @rowanmoore.bsky.social It has changed how I think about my home, houses around me, village church, local shop, struggles of my family & so many others, and how I read the news. Possession, when compared with property, informs alienation & belonging.

Highgate Newtown Community Centre review – if you’re looking for design that humanises, here it is An old Territorial Army drill hall has been transformed into an inspiring mixed-used development for local people that’s more than the sum of its parts

"It’s a fat-thin, heavy-light, orderly-informal, messy-coherent, serious-playful sort of place".
@rowanmoore.bsky.social has written a delightful Guardian review of HNCC—a new mixed-use community, residential and public realm project we've recently completed for Camden Council.
