This is something it's hard to explain to people (and I didn't have room to get into in the article) - that even the most loving, caring relationships can still be experienced as abusive simply because of the power dynamics of disability in a capitalist world.

For the next half hour, individuals kept trying to get past the barriers and into the crowd. It is pure luck that nobody was seriously injured. They have been crowing about their attack (occasionally remembering they're supposed to pretend to be the victims).

They stood there yelling for a few minutes, then a group of them jumped the railings and rushed round the cafe to get to where we didn't have a barrier. Luckily enough of us were watching for it that they didn't make it into the crowd where the refugees were.

This ended with one of them targeting one of our people and pushing him backwards first into a metal rail and then down stone steps. The police finally intervened and removed them to a few metres away.

The first speaker had just begun when they surrounded her at the top of the stone steps, towering over her, yelling and filming themselves. When our people tried to get between them to protect her, the fascists attacked.

We recognised one man who's known for screaming the 14 Words at asylum seekers. He gave a wee speech outside the Music Hall and the other fascists applauded him.

When they got to the rally point, despite this, they tried to insist they were just concerned citizens and not racist.

We were attacked by fascists on Saturday.

On Saturday, the Aberdeen Trades Union Council held its annual St Andrew's Day parade along with community groups and refugees. It was explicitly a march against fascism, so we were expecting fascists to show up. And they did.

Whatever you think about the downsides of the modern world, you can't deny that the bit where pretty much all the babies get to live is fucking awesome.

We've had a friend staying from Norway, so I've been doing far more than I should and today my body has given up the ghost. I'm expecting a big crash in the next week so won't be able to go to Inverness next weekend. But seals and escape rooms and board games and food ❤️

The local fash saw Glasgow got attention for protesting a primary school so they're going to try it too. They think men being near a primary school (which is also a community centre and food bank) is creepy so they're going to..hang around outside a primary school videoing themselves.

If you think even for a second these people are a good faith organisation trying to help the community, I can show you them chanting 'white power' and calling police 'traitors to their race'.

These men hang out with and celebrate men who post swastikas and Hitler memes saying 'I tried to save you'. One went from standing outside the school for an hour today to filming through the windows of asylum seeker accommodation, saying he wanted to throw bacon at them. He's going back tomorrow.

Follow-up on @heraldscotland.bsky.social awarding "Campaign of the Year" to an oligarch-funded trans-hostile pressure group, over a campaign that secured improved treatment for disabled kids and one that ended the Not Proven loophole that let rapists walk free.

We've always known the law values property more than human life but this is wild.

I wish I had poetic things to say about this loss. I've always tried to make meaning out of pain (I don't believe things happen 'for a reason', but do believe you can create purpose with them). I just can't find the thread here for everything that's ended with her death.
