AACC hosted a small gathering of San Fransisco Bay Area Christians to talk about the state of Asian American Christianity. It was great to see so many old and new friends!

As we celebrate this Mid-Autumn season, may we see the harvest not only as God’s provision for us, but also as God’s invitation to proclaim good news to the hungry, to embody Christ’s abundance, and to live as though the feast of the Kingdom has already begun.

But Scripture also reminds us that abundance is never meant for hoarding. Paul, in 1 Corinthians, rebukes those who feast while others go hungry. God’s Kingdom is marked not by scarcity, but by a table where all are fed and none are left out.

For Christians, these rhythms of the earth remind us of God’s daily provision. When we pray, “Give us today our daily bread,” we acknowledge that every gift of harvest, every grain and fruit, comes from the Creator’s hand.

Many Asian communities celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival—called Zhōngqiū Jié in China, Tet Trung Thu in Vietnam, and Chuseok in Korea—a time to honor the harvest, the turning of seasons, and the light of the full moon.
