I'm gonna say it guys. I hate these AI ads online. Hate em' so effing bad. Why are these a thing?

F*ck AI.

One scribble is worth so much more than any generated piece. It has so much more value in it than anything the machine ever could. I swear every AI image looks the SAME. The same face, same eyes, same nose, same lines. Its honestly just so lazy. ☠️

There's always that one guy that tries to argue that these programs streamline the process. How? By leaning on a program to do everything for you? Its not the same as actually learning how to make it yourself. Please just pick up the pencil. Its not that hard and you'll have other artist's support.

AI does nothing but hold artists that try to use it back. It does not make your work look that much better than if you actually just did it yourself. All it does is distort your creative process and robs you of the knowledge of how to make art. Upscaling also takes away from the final piece too imo.

As soon as I see a piece generated by AI, I can tell that it was not by a human. It lacks a soul behind it. No matter how clean, how polished looking, how shiny it may appear to one on the surface, it lacks any vision. Its not the same as the creations of humans which contain a piece of the creator.

AI also is destroying forests, wasting water, and draining energy just in order to create knockoffs of actual artists' work. AI is not the same as referencing a piece or even simply borrowing a pose. Its the theft of the composition, lighting, and elements while at the same time distorting each one.

Wake up. These programs cannot create anything that contains any true meaning. It does not understand the subjective nuance that a human being can. It does not understand. It does not think. It cannot create. Only puke out amalgamations of the collective work of humans. It will never hold any depth.

There was a time back in 2022 when GenAI was still new that I thought it could help artists and was inspired by the idea of creatives using it to teach others. Until I learned how "corpos" made it and its true nature. There is no use for an AI made by stealing the collective efforts of real artists.

Not to mention, there is no shame in referencing pictures or images by those on a higher skill level than you. Like, no one owns the pose in a piece, so try drawing it. Or if you feel inspired by a color combo, blend it into your own. But for the love of god, give up the machine. You don't need it.

It does not take universe altering powers in order to LEARN something. You just have to stick with it for more than 5 mins. You think I'd have learned to be the artist that I am if I stopped when it got "too hard" or "challenging"? Bro, challenge is like the forge that will turn coal into a diamond.

DNI if you are an AI bro. Not a fan of that shit; I don't vibe with it. Pick up a damn pencil, look at a reference, and sketch what you see. Really think about it too while you do it. Focus on each line and shape you create. You will get better. Yall gotta quit sticking your heads in the sand. #NOAI

I am still alive lol

So, for me personally, its sad to see them go. I wish a younger me could have appreciated them better than I did because now that they are going away, to be replaced with an isolatory husk, its just so deeply disenchanting. But, I know I am not the only one who shares in this sorrow.

As someone who used to go from the suburbs on one side of the town just to get to the mall, that was where I got to experience culture. Now these places are fast disappearing from the changes brought forth by the Covid-19 pandemic along with fast fashion and online orders taking their place.

For a lot of people, that was where they got pictures with Santa or the Easter Bunny with their family. For others, it was where they spent their awkward teen years at the Hot Topic. Or it was where they bought animes, books, and music through places like FYE and Borders. Its becoming a memory now.

Mall culture, as a whole is lost on the youngest generations. They never got to live through the era of places like Sears, JCPenny, Macy's and Blockbuster. They never had that opportunity. But for those of us that did, the memories are often bittersweet.

Experience life while you can, because someday places like these won't exist and you may wish you appreciated them better while they were there. I remember not caring so much about the mall in my old town, but now that these are becoming a relic of the past, I am trying to visit them more.

All we have is now. ❤️
