Whoa, the projection window feature is amazing. I've seen people use projectors for cutting out patterns but ive seen it requires to set up the projector so it points straight down so things project correctly from a flat pattern image.

(2/3) So pandafold is my response, it's my fourth attempt at solving this problem. I wanted a tool that accelerated my suit making workflow and I really feel like I'm nearly there. Sure it isn't remotely as powerful as CLO, but I'm just one person working on this, and not huge company.

(1/3) Few pieces of software give me anxiety attacks just thinking about using them, and that is one. I spent way too much time trying to get it to work for me, and it was one of my reasons for writing software to solve this problem.

To get this working involved writing a text layout engine, which was a fun adventure, but I wanted it to save as much time as possible when it comes to cutting patterns. I don't want to have users spend time moving text around, I just want to them to quickly pattern and start sewing.

Initial work on pattern layout, this text is all laid out automatically, it includes pattern id, grain direction, material name (fur name), pattern description, and the seams (SEAM_ID:PATTERN_ID) #fursuitmaker #fursuitwip #patterning_software #sewing

It should work well for that! I'd eventually like to get to the point where it can account for the stretch in mochi fabrics, but that is a post V1 thing.

Enjoy my rats nest! I'm really excited I have my first mapping showing how you'd match up the seams to sew the patterns. I've been working on this for a few days. It's been a long road to get here. #fursuitmaker #wip.

I'm so excited I can't wait to release the software, and see how it works for people. I hope it helps people create more fursuit, cosplay, plushies faster, skipping over duct tape.

The red areas show you were the pattern became distorted when it was flattened, and the pattern needs to be adjusted to account for the distortion. I rewrote a huge chunk of the export engine today which allowed me to generate a PDF to print up and cut out and test. (1)

The software I'm writing to go straight from 3D models to patterns is painfully close and far away. I test patterned a head with it tonight and it was pretty much perfect, the areas marked in red where were I had problems; I want this tool so badly. #fursuitmaker #wip
