Well said
I missed Elsie several times in Northumberland and Norfolk so was very pleased to catch up with the Dawlish bird yesterday
That’s a good haul.
All the best, and a timely reminder (as was Bjorn Bjorg on the tv this morning). I have an annual test now
⚠️ We need your help to survey priority sites for Dartford Warbler, Woodlark and Nightjar as part of our Heathland Birds Survey. 🐦 Find a vacant survey site near you ➡️ www.bto.org/heathlan... #Ornithology #UKBirding #BirdingWales

No apologies necessary. Thanks for the photos- I have now moved away from Norfolk so enjoy them as reminders of a great place
Yes I know where you are standing to take that - masses of gorse on the heath. Really lovely scent in a nice warm day - and keep your eye out for Green Hairstreaks.
A lovely spot. Must smell of coconut
It’s one of the memories from Covid for me - the real blueness of the sky without jets and their pollution/vapour trails.
Always next year….
She really doesn’t like change or disturbance does she. Nice shots
Are there many ESO out yet please?

Did my square this morning in west Oxfordshire. No Woodlarks - which is not surprising - but worryingly no Skylarks either in a predominantly arable area.
Huge thanks to everyone who has surveyed for Woodlark for the Heathland Birds Survey so far. We still have some survey squares left, so take a look and see if there is one near you on our website ➡️ www.bto.org/heathland-birds-survey #Ornithology
Look at the beak on that! Hawfinch in Forest of Dean today.
Is it the case that idealism is rife when the kids are in teens/ early 20’s and then the harsh realities of life kick in? …. Jobs/housing etc?
I did mean retirement not pretty!
Have got heat pump going in shortly, have an EV and will probably go for Solar and Batteries this year. Meanwhile use renewables only leccy supplier. Lucky to be able to afford to do all of this. Haven’t travelled much - thought I’d do it in pretty- but now don’t fly. We have to make sacrifices now
I’m with Steve on this - pretty pessimistic about my generation changing much (I am 64).I have two daughters in late 20’s/early 30’s and their generation is challenged by need to buy houses and live generally that they can’t afford to be very climate aware. I am trying to do my bit 1/2
Agaric for me
We are just off junction 15 of the M4 so if you are passing you would be very welcome to drop in.
Lots to explore down here in 2025

I would like to wish all my friends a very happy Christmas. I hope that 2025 brings you all happiness. For those that don’t already know Sandra Smith and I have just relocated from Norfolk to Shrivenham in Oxon to be near our family. 1/2
The geese at dawn today were spectacular from Whin Cover, with a superb sky as a backdrop.

There’s absolutely no comment in that statement about staff cuts and the impact on the people that make RSPB work.
