Also I slipped on my icy front steps and bruised my elbow and my butt and torqued my knee, so this storm really is trying to get me to lose my sense of humor.

Driving out of the neighborhood was kind of horrifying. Trees down everywhere, some parts of the road hardly passable because of them. No traffic lights working. The highway was pretty clear, thankfully. But I won't be surprised if I don't get power for another day or two.

I lasted about 32 hours with no power before thinking "I would pay like $100 to be warm and have a hot shower" then realized that's about what a hotel would be. I got the last room about 15 miles south of me and I'm all clean and warm now.

Me too! I’m not looking forward to another night of this.

We had so many trees crashing. I’ve got big limbs down in the back yard. And my part of the street is on its own little 3 house spur so we don’t get switched back on as quickly I think. Fingers crossed it comes back today because it’s COLD in here.

Still no power. But I was warm enough in bed! It’s getting out of bed that was rough. Getting the candles going again, changing into fresh warm clothes (I would fucking love a long hot shower), and hey at least my Diet Coke is cold.

I’m going to be so happy when the power comes back on. Nothing makes me more grateful for electricity than doing without. The candles are nice and all but it’s been 12 hours and I dread the thought of doing this for days.

Super not great. I’ve been lucky so far but these trees are NOT happy.

Got out my great grandmother’s quilt to add to my stay warm set up and I wonder how many others before me huddled under it in the cold winters.

Probably they didn’t have Diet Coke and access to all the world’s horrors in their palm.

I woke up to find I was one of them. Enacting my stay warm plan now, glad I’m ready.

I filled the bird feeders this morning because one thing I really love is seeing little birdie footprints in the snow.

Great news. I am supplied with Diet Coke and Publix wasn't a total zoo. Also went to yoga this morning, figured I should stretch and move before nesting into the sofa for several days.

We are forecast for major snow and ice impacts this weekend. I did my grocery stocking up yesterday HOWEVER I somehow deeply underestimated my current Diet Coke supply. I may have to go battle the panic crowds for it.

Dang, that's an excellent idea for a post procedure meal.

Mine is scheduled in 2 weeks. They sent me the prep instructions today. I have to get up at 3 am to drink some stuff?!?!? This is an entire project. And a group project since I need a driver! Here's hoping we both are squeaky clean I guess.

I just now realized that the Golden Knights and the Golden (State) Warriors are two different teams in completely different sport.

As long as the electricity stays on, I love a good TN snowpocalypse. A few days snuggled in the house while everything is pretty and quiet outside.

Plus, maybe snudes.
