Features and Normative Requirements for Nationally Determined Contributions (Technical Paper)

Well 🇦🇪🇧🇷🇺🇸🇺🇾🇨🇭🇬🇧🇳🇿🇦🇩🇱🇨🇪🇨🇿🇼🇸🇬🇲🇭 for submitting new climate targets ('NDCs') by 10 February deadline.

It is disappointing that so few have come forward on time, particularly among the major polluters.

The Paris Agreement: A Moment for Reflection This paper answers several questions in the lead-up to COP30, including how countries can ensure the Paris Agreement delivers on its goals.

COP29 has resulted in more commentary than usual as to whether the Paris Agreement is working.

This new @c2es.bsky.social paper suggests that the design of the #ParisAgreement is not the problem, and if we want a transformative outcome from #COP30 then perhaps a change of approach is needed.

COP29 delivered on its two main objectives: adoption of a New Collective Quantified Goal on climate finance and finalization of the outstanding elements of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement on carbon markets. But several important issues were left open.
