It is. This is one of the things I initialize on the native splash screen, via deferFirstFrame. You still get full control in Flutter but no extra screen flashing. If the app requires longer initialization, I'll move it to a Flutter splash screen with more feedback to the user

I'm doing the same now too. But it requires me to manually manage it myself now, instead of just having it out of the box :/

The async behavior of package_info_plus is so annoying. I wish we could just access this metadata synchronously, through WidgetsBinding for example

If you have a different signing config for each flavor on Android, don't forget to explicitly set buildTypes.debug.signingConfig to null.

Android will put the debug signing there and will ignore the flavor specific signing if this is not null

Spent the weekend refactoring custom lint rules to work as a direct analyzer plugin, instead of building upon custom_lint.
Not done yet but definitely learned a lot already 👀
