been trying to only watch an episode a day in order to not blow through this show in a week - and honestly i might still be buzzing from this one tomorrow fuck

episode 7 is one of the tensest half-hours of television i have ever seen holy shit

Genndy is not exactly known for his smooth landings, and were only exactly half way through this season - but fuck this is some special stuff to watch come out weekly

Season 3, however, has suddenly become this beautiful character-focused depiction of loss and memory loss and what makes a man a man once he’s become inhuman - all while still remaining one of the best looking shows on TV and still featuring arguably the best choreographed fights in all animation -

Season 2 took a more ideas focused approach, giving us this massive ship filled with this interesting take on a marine-based Egyptian city. more of a focus on the characters, but still pretty centered on the set-pieces and action sequences.

Season 1 of Primal is basically just an excuse to have ten different big fights that Genndy wanted to animate, with Spear and Fang’s relationship pretty conclusively in the background (1/4)

it’s probably a mixture of (a lack of) promotion + the rotoscoping art-style doesn’t look super great in still screenshots - but at least the episodes i’ve seen so far are as good as the first few eps of any animated project

been watching Undone for the first time - and it’s kind of mind-boggling that the creator of BoJack co-created another show this ridiculously interesting and nobody really cared -

almost as bad as when you think you nailed it and then listen back to edit it and you said something entirely different hahaHa

it's about 50% edited now, which means it should be out sometime in February, assuming i don't get so frustrated at my inability to read the obnoxiously long sentences i wrote that i break my laptop into a thousand tiny pieces

the fact that this video is coming out so long after the season ended is making me less motivated to finish it, which is making it come out even longer after the season ended, which is making me even less motivated to finish it, which is ahhhhhhhh

relearning that recording/editing a longer video takes a longer amount of time and it is kind of bumming me out !!

also i get that different companies blah blah blah but the universe needs to have a Genndy directed sequence of Invincible. watching him do 50 fights with a caveman that are all so fucking fascinating leads me to believe he could do something really special with Invincible’s cast -

another funny thing i realized when looking at the IMDBs for these series is that Invincible, a show famous for huge gaps between seasons, is about to air its fourth season right after Primal, a show that started 2 years before, is still finishing its third.

just a difference in audiences haha

just realized that Invincible S4 starts right after Primal S3 wraps up - 17 straight weeks of animated action in the year of our lord 2026 ❤️

no jokes this time; Primal has simply become the best show on tv once again.

still a little terrified about how Genndy’s gonna end this season - but these first four episodes of been the most enthralled i’ve been by anything week-to-week in quite some time !!

the first 3 and final 3 episodes of season 5 are actually really great - those 4 in the middle, however, serve to remind you that Rick and Morty is not intended to be enjoyable lmao
