THIS. Hong Kong built an entirely new island airport with 3 runways in six years (using British architect and engineers). It’s obvious that this is is the solution for London. Redevelop LHR’s golden acres as housing.

Agreed. Heathrow is in the wrong place - in a city - flights cause huge amounts of noise. Third runway will make this even worse. Obvious solution is to relocate airport to the Thames Estuary so that flights don't go over residential areas. It could have 4 runways and function 24h a day.
