A graphic showing a list of costs to Alberta taxpayers which total $10 billion wasted.
There's a lot of talk in Alberta about the latest budget.
Here's a short (and incomplete) list of why the UCP budget for 2025-26 is forecasting a multi-year deficit which has nothing to do with Ottawa nor immigrants.

$2.3B allocated to new crown corporation supporting Alberta health agencies
Alberta is creating a provincial corporation, Health Shared Services, to centralize corporate services between its four health agencies.
As the party of fiscal responsibility we continue to break AHS into 4 Silos with 4 CEOs and management.
But we now realize we need a new crown corporation to oversee the 4 health agencies so we're allocating $2.3 billion and hiring new CEOs and managers!

Good news Alberta!
With the stroke of a pen I just signed you poor taxpayers up for $40 BILLION IN NEW DEBT so you and your kids can enjoy deficit for years to come!
Thank you for always voting for the fiscally responsible UCP conservatives!

Just like voting conservative for 50 years and expecting better results, Alberta conservatives have been programmed to do one thing over and over again hoping for change.
This convoy is proof of that!

A screenshot of a news article written by Jack Farrell and posted by CBC News on June 27, 2025 showing a picture of Nate Horner, UCP Finance Minister, with the headline reading: Alberta posts surplus of $8.3 billion in 2024-2025 fiscal year. Just over $5 billion of surplus cash province can spend, says finance minister.
Friendly reminder:
In June 2025, Nate Horner was boasting about an Alberta $5 billion budget SURPLUS.
And then we spent it like a lottery winner on crack resulting in a $9 billion DEFICIT, so now we're blaming immigrants!

If Alberta is the Economic Engine of Canada that has a tax advantage of at least $16.9 billion compared to other provinces.
Why is Alberta always running a deficit?
It's almost like there's some party in the government that keeps mishandling taxpayer money. 🤔

Alberta Legalizes Hunt Pens for Deer & Elk
Alberta legalizes enclosed hunting, reviving a cruel sport that lets hunters pay to kill captive deer and elk trapped behind high fences.
Todd Loewen is proud to be profiting from this:
By amending the Livestock Industry Diversification Act, the province has ended a long-standing prohibition on the devastating bloodsport of “canned hunting” or “enclosed hunting.”

A screenshot of the No Tax Hike Guarantee from the UCP website which reads: A re-elected UCP government would formalize this pledge by expanding the Taxpayer Protection Act to include personal and business income taxes to ensure no future government could increase income taxes without approval from Albertans in a referendum. The Taxpayer Protection Act already prohibits the introduction of a sales tax without approval from Albertans in a referendum.
But you won't find any referendum on our municipal tax hike.

Coyne writes in his post: My latest, on the disgraceful attempts by two political leaders to blame immigrants for their troubles and ours.
McAllister responds: This guy is unhinged. You could search the country and it would be difficult to find someone more out of touch with reality. I'm not suggesting he's the dumbest person in Canada, but if that person dies...

Alberta pledges $10.8B for education in Budget 2026
In Budget 2026 Alberta says it will invest $10.8 billion into the education system with a tough budget coming Thursday.
As it turns out, my UCP could afford to pay what teachers were demanding. We just wanted to force a deal on them we knew they would never accept.

A social media post by Charles Adler, Canadian Senator, which reads: Your choice, Albertans. You can believe Premier Danielle Smith, or the Data. In 1992, Alberta had approximately 11,700 hospital beds. Today, with nearly double the population and a much older demographic, we have roughly 8,800. This is not an Ottawa or immigration problem.

The post reads: Had a blast illustrating How Alberta Got Its Independence with Derek Smith. It's officially a Number One best seller on Amazon in Political Humour. Alberta's Independence is a grassroots movement being organized and funded by Albertans, NOT foreign interests.
Because all grassroots movements write books to sell on Amazon when they're busy organizing and gathering petition signatures.
