Polaris the Bear combines the magic of raku with the feeling of first snow on a starry night: crisp air, soft light, and that moment winter asks you to slow down.
A small reminder to breathe, wander, and let the season settle in, for soon spring will come.

A little magic for your Saturday.
Within the kiln, where flames rise,
Draconis wakes with molten eyes.
Across its skin, raku fire streams,
A creation forged from potter's dreams.
From earth and flame its power is cast
Ancient breath in clay held fast.

It takes time to learn how to throw, but once you do it's like riding a bike.
You probably have not had much time on the wheel yet either. I'd suggest watching videos of people throwing. Watch their hands carefully and try out a few of the different techniques you see.
Good luck and have fun!
Thank you! Hope you enjoy your Sunday!

If you are patient I could make you one. It would probably be two months as I just did a bisque firing. (If that's too far off, I understand)
Just send me an email with approximate dimensions and what you'd like the cut out that holds the yarn to look like.

Happy Caturday to you too!

At this point I'm doing my best to squeeze out all the joy , happiness, peace and love I can.
I just used to believe we were making progress and took comfort in at least less people will suffer. That doesn't seem to be the case and is heart breaking.
that's a great song! thanks for sharing it! π

I'm a survivor of childhood abuse and I can tell you they hate having their power and control challenged. Seeing the response to epstein is retraumatizing and shows nothing has really changed.
You are right not to trust a system that allows this. I hope I live to see it change
6 raku vases in a grid with a white background in two rows of three. There is a vase name in black text under each image, from left to, to right bottom, the names are Lagoon Nebula, Draconis, Skyfire, Pinwheel, Persueus'Cloud, Tethy's Tide.

The world feels very unsettled, and art isnβt always the priority in these trying times. Even so, I'm here and keep on making.
These are my latest one-of-a-kind raku vessels available now. A share or like to help them find their people would mean a great deal. π
That's messed up.
28.02.2026 11:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 06 mugs in one image. The first on the top left is blue and has a cat as a handle! The next to the right is intergalactic themed. To the right (and last in the top row) is a brown and blue mug called Spring Moss. In the bottom row, is a blue, red and brown mug with dotted clay. In the middle is another brown and blue mug with a more delicate handle. On the bottom right is a delightfully purple mug made of porcelain.
New mugs are heading into the kiln soon π₯
To make room, most of the remaining mugs are now $65, shipping included.
If oneβs been calling your name, this might be the moment to bring it home.
And if not, a share always helps. π
Thank you so much for your kind comment. Hope you have a good day!

From our Liminal Dreams series, "Infinity Rising" is an endless reflection on quiet transformation.
This piece is a delicate blend of timelessness that speaks to renewal, perseverance, and the ways we rise and fall together in an interconnected infinite universe.

Human rights are for everyone. It is really simple. You either support them or you don't. It's pretty sad people would even suggest otherwise.

Looks beautiful.
That seems to be the general consensus regarding clay beads, though for earings it could be worthwhile.

A garden bed in front of a green house that includes red bee balm, shasta daisies, tiger lily, black hollyhock and yellow coreopsis.
Not the best picture, but you can kind of see the Black Hollyhock.
I have some other flower seeds I harvested too, I can send a few of if you like.
I'll try and find a photo for you. I can also check if I have some extra seeds and send you some if you are interested.

That's so cool. Have never seen those in these parts.
I harvested some black hollyhock seeds last fall, and started a few because I want more.
Thanks, we just got a bit more snow last night.

I got one line last year (have a lime too, flowers are not open yet). Can I ask what you fertilize with?
I sometimes dream of building a greenhouse on the south side of the house, because you are right, they call out to be rooted!
Also thought of trying to build a walipini.
A snowy landscape. You can see a wooden fence and snow covered branches in the foreground, a small blue building and trees in the background, all snow covered. You can see some blue/white sky.
Good Morning!
This is how it looks outside, but inside I am hand pollinating my dwarf lemon tree with a q-tip.
Any others out there growing citrus trees in a pot? If you have any tips or advice, I'd love to hear them.

Thank you! This one made me very happy with how it came out from the firing.
