Storm coach Noelle Quinn said pregame that Brittney Sykes is expected in Seattle on Wednesday, which would allow her to complete a required physical and presumably set her up to join the Storm on their trip to Las Vegas for Friday's pivotal game.

Clark, Fever to vie for Cup after scuffles mar win
Caitlin Clark and the Fever advanced to the Commissioner's Cup championship game after defeating the Sun in a physical game that included a pair of scuffles and three late ejections.
Both Indiana & Connecticut denounced the officiating last night for allowing tensions to escalate throughout the game. Sun HC Rachid Meziane called Sophie Cunningham’s late foul “disrespectful.” Fever HC Stephanie White left it as, “I viewed it as a flagrant foul.”

Minnesota is undefeated no more. Erica Wheeler's key 3 started an 8-0 Storm game to end the run. She had 20 points and nine assists, Nneka Ogwumike had 21 points and 10 rebounds and Skylar Diggins reached 5,000 career points on a fun night for Seattle fans.

Storm played what felt like a pretty flawless first half, shooting 55% from the field with 15 assists ... and are still down one at the break. The Lynx are pretty, pretty good.

During my time working for the Storm website, they were responsible for two of the four times Quigley got cut before sticking in Chicago. Always enjoyed covering her in between those. She was the only player who at exit interviews asked us reporters what we were going to do during the W offseason.

The New York Liberty join the Minnesota Lynx at 8-0, marking the second time in league history where multiple teams started with that record in the same season.
The other instance? 2016 with Minnesota (13-0) and Los Angeles (11-0). The squads later met in the Finals that season

And credit to the Mercury front office for identifying the right “role players” (Westbeld, Akoa Makani, Laksa, Held, etc.) to surround their Big Three — that group has so far really flourished in Nate Tibbetts’ system

The Phoenix Mercury are undoubtedly one of the biggest surprises of the young WNBA season. No Kahleah Copper or Natasha Mack with an already top-heavy roster. No Alyssa Thomas these past two games. Then today, Phoenix rallied from down 18 to beat LA at home. Merc improve to 5-2.
