As someone who has enjoyed getting into cocktails over the past few years, it was really cool to get a martini at The Savoy this evening while vacationing in London.

I'm a fan of having right-wing guests, but was hoping it would be closer to that debate between Newsom and DeSantis... I'm not necessarily wanting him to dunk on everyone, but at least holding to principles and challenging them.

I remember a reddit comment awhile back that said you should walk around your house/apartment and take a video of everything in case of a fire or disaster to help remember/log everything for insurance claims. Seems like a good time to re-share that. Stay safe LA peeps <3

Just when I thought I had exhausted all the fun and interesting alt-christmas movies, my wife found "Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale" for us to watch last night. I definitely recommend if you enjoyed "Krampus".

Watched "Carry-On" last night and I'm reasonably confident the premise is from an AI generated prompt. Also was obvious that the only reason it takes place on Christmas Eve is a hail-mary play at getting more people to watch an otherwise bland film.

Couldn't get into Discovery but really enjoyed Strange New Worlds! Gives me modernized TNG vibes.

Rewatched "Krampus" the other night. Looking for more alternative Christmas movies if you've got recs. I think I've seen most but am always searching for something new!

My one gripe is that you have these insanely smart scientists who have the future of human survival on the line and they repeatedly make what I think are uncharacteristic and selfish choices for people in that position.

I hope Bluesky can sell the exciting experiment to new users and not demuskified Twitter. Personal preference aside, my first impression of this app has felt like replacing one echo chamber with another. I fear if that perception persists it will limit the growth of what I hope will be a better app.
