We’re in no tailspin just yet, but slowly losing altitude at a worrying time. No goals in 3 & we drastically need a win, but the wins just feel so hard to come by for us. Especially when you’re facing nonsensical decisions every single game. We’re getting no favours. Hard not to feel a bit cheated.
You just know they roll over for West Ham.
I’m having a horrible déjà vu feeling about being stuck on 31 points. The cynic in me assumes the media six darlings will be the beneficiaries of some questionable officiating and var decisions in the run it.
Very doomsayer, but I don’t feel great about our chances.
So Nmecha got Bijol’d but it’s not a pen because why???
Above his elbow?!
We were only ever one bad set of results away from being in it again. West Ham are flying. They’ll stay up. I think everyone got a bit carried away recently. We were overdue a slump. Very Leeds to do it now.
I’m prone to wildly catastrophising, but given our consistent rotten luck and the Leeds effect, we’re more likely looking at a 2% chance of survival.
Championship is going to be a nightmare to get out of next season. Wolves and possibly Burnley likely to bounce back, Southampton, Sheffield United, Ipswich and Leicester all could get their shit back on track.
I think 42 points at least will be needed to stay up. We never time anything right.
We’re in that stage of the season where all the relegation threatened teams start to pull out the results. Just in time for us to start dropping.
We know how this ends.
Never been more certain on anything. Other than last night at half time where I was certain we’d lose 1-0 to a soft goal.
I don’t think we can ignore the effort they put in v Citeh. I thought they looked knackered last night from kick off. I know Farke said they wouldn’t be tired, but of course he would say that. 3 days is a quick turnaround after an effort like Sunday’s. He was frustrating though. Reacted far too late
LSB and Willy should’ve come on at half time or 60 mins at the latest. They provided everything we were missing. By the time they came on they had a few minutes before our shape was totally done by the throw everyone up front thing that Farke does.
I’ve been expecting a bad run before the season is out. It think it’s here. Play well v Citeh & lose, play shite against Sunderland & lose. Need to get this out of our systems quick. Hopefully we still have enough to see us through, but that should’ve been there for the taking.
It just wasn’t working. Could see in the first half. Farke did nothing until it was too late. If we went behind, we were always losing that one.
Absolutely how I view this. We looked knackered though. Subs left far too late. Going to need favours tomorrow or we might be in trouble.
Fucking hate being right.
Weirdly I feel we deserve this, but also that they don’t.
All the ball but no idea what to do with it. Pretty terrible half really. Primed for a defensive mistake 1-0 loss.
I know. Unbelievable.
Kind of helps when the officials are on your side.
Ref did his job there. Every 50/50 went their way. Blatant handball totally ignored.
Don’t take chances like we had, a team like this will always make you pay eventually. Sickener.
Sucker punched by the financial cheats.
I’m not a fan of everyone’s constant fawning over Pep. Akin to fawning over a billionaire’s business acumen who was born into a family of billionaires.
No matter what happens next week, we can’t be any closer than three points off the drop after our bastard of a run of fixtures. That’s pretty significant, albeit still slightly annoying. We should be comfortable by now really.
Great result really. Just have this nagging feeling West Ham win again tonight though.
Let me introduce my theory that the vast majority of people in positions of authority are mentally ill & shouldn’t be allowed to be in such positions because of their mental illnesses (narcissism at best, sociopathy and psychopathy at worst). This applies to politicians, CEOs & many management types
Yeah, I think that’s the thing. He’s a luxury finisher, but the rest of his game just doesn’t suit what we have to do. He’s not direct, he’s not a battler, he’s not particularly fast, he’s not a target man, but he’s got something. I’d not be surprised to see him bag quite a few in a different setup
The “keep politics out I football” crowd, right there.
I see the fringe players have decided they’d like to stay fringe players.
