Was speaking with an Aberdeen mate of his yesterday, spoke highly of him, told me Joe lodged with Freddy Starr. Joe went to watch him one-night, Freddie came out in an Everton shirt and boots and told the audience he was Joe taking a pen and then blasted it high and wide above the audience.

Hols are great, just met a mate of Joe Harpers from Aberdeen. He filled in the gaps from 72-74 that I couldn't recall. Never knew he lodged with Freddie Starr back then as well!
