I finished the ZA story last night and I’m not gonna lie, I think this might be the best pokemon game ever made. I’ve never been so engaged by the story and gameplay loop in a pokemon game. It’s at the very least in my top 3 with Violet and explorers of the sky. Genuinely a fantastic game.

I think the reason doing poorly at VGC tournaments feels so bad for me is because literally nothing else is going well and VGC has kind of been what I’ve poured myself into as an escape, so when VGC isn’t fun it just means everything sucks.

How do you stop letting results control how you feel about vgc? I see that advice all the time but it just doesn’t even feel possible. It feels like I’m not improving at all despite putting more effort into it than any other interest I have. I’m tired of leaving majors wishing I hadn’t gone.

I annihilated a dozogiri player after I almost missed the round entirely and he dropped. Brought me just enough joy to keep going.

Got matched against Joe Ugarte in round 2 lmao. I lost, but the set was competitive and I took a game off of him! That’s the second time in a row I’ve won round 1 easily, then got matched against a top player in round 2 at a major. It was fedecampo at NAIC.
