Put another way…is it ethical to pay taxes to fund our military who blows up suspected criminals? This is the logic of Thoreau and led him towards Civil Disobedience as morality.

I’ve cried at every rally I’ve been to. Hardest was when someone read the poem at the bottom of Statue of Liberty. Or maybe when I compared the beauty and aspiration in the Gettysburg Address with orange turd boy. We were, once, a good if imperfect country.

Just listened to long interview between Ezra Klein and Ta-Nehesi Coates. In NY Times. If you can access I strongly recommend it. Klein trying to find a political way forward, albeit awkwardly. Coates being his normal top shelf self. Can’t recommend it enough.
I prefer Trump crime syndicate.
I don’t see enough people protesting. I don’t see enough non-violent resistance. We need people willing to go to jail. A lot of them. I have not given up either. But it’s time for the type of resistance that requires major personal sacrifice.
The rule of law, and due process, are outdated concepts in fascist America. That was clear enough in Jan 2025 when the Jan 6 cop killers were pardoned. And reiterated as suspected criminals get blown up in the Caribbean. The king decides guilt and innocence. Full stop. Juries are superfluous.
