NASA, Aerospace Corporation Study Sharpens Focus on Ammonia Emissions
The pungent gas contributes to fine airborne particulate pollution, which endangers human health when inhaled and absorbed in the bloodstream.
Atmospheric ammonia is a pollutant of emerging concern, but its sources are not well characterized. In our recent study, we mapped ammonia around California’s Salton Sea at 2 m resolution using an airborne hyperspectral imager, revealing sharp spatial patterns and key emission sources.

I’m guessing you were standing next to your AQ sensor. I talked to Rami at EAC about Qatar’s AQ monitoring/ forecasting during the World Cup, and figured it’s worth staying in touch to learn from their lessons as LA prepares for the World Cup and Olympics too. Would be great to have you in the loop.

They should read our new study. In Los Angeles Purple Air sensors are likely more accurate than the expensive sensors. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
