really the thing that makes video games one of the hardest things you can make is even a tiny one just requires absolutely skull shattering unbelievable amounts of Art

i dropped out of barajam and started working on this thing again b/c taking a break from it was starting to feel more anxiety-inducing than relaxing

after watching all the game cutscenes i do really want to write some porn of them, but it feels like it would be kinda counter to the ethos of the game if i did that without, you know, playing/beating the game myself :V

this one doesn't have any, like, actual genetic features tho b/c it's really just a crossbreeding test. but you can imagine there's all sorts of ways to get various kinds of demihuman out of this

in practice my allosome code isn't quite as flexible as i'd hoped, so i'm going to have to revise it a little to actually permit crossbreeds between human/demihuman/monster, which is also probably gonna involve me figuring out/inventing a way to turn the genetic slurry into something coherent

the vague idea is just that there'd be a prolonged 'accepting fertilization' period where genetic material is accepted & once fertilization happens, through some kinda selection that ends with a coherent final genome, (haven't coded that part yet so i'm not sure how i'd do it exactly) it's fixed

yeah, there's multiple pigment genes, though they're all used in very simple "adjust skin color by this amount" ways. there's currently nothing epigenetic at all b/c there's no external landscape that could possibly activate anything, tho that would be neat if/when i actually use this for anything.

anyway i've been wanting to write some nate/moose baby steps porn but i feel like it would be kind of betraying the game's ethos if i did that without actually, you know, having beaten the game. they are very cute tho
