Burnout is a systemic problem, so be kind to yourself and hard on the system.
keep thinking about two things from a recent panel on anti-fascism:
- people united to fight fascists didn’t need a shared definition of fascism first (they needed each other)
- not everyone in the group wanted to fight the same way, but they agreed not to denounce one another over those differences
It's important to remember: be curious about things people love! Encourage those passions, ask about them, and learn about cool things and people you'd never have seen otherwise.
A little goes a long way to make someone's day.

Internet activists (on all sides of the political spectrum) "debating" as a way to try and humiliate each other is so embarrassing. And it's usually men. "Debate me"---> proceeds to present a poorly designed argument riddled with fallacy while heavily insulting the other person. Get a hobby.
Random thought but it's unfortunate to me how the debate is misused. Debates are meant to be for learning, intellectual challenge, and collaboration. They are *not* meant for dogmatic assertion, power plays, or making someone look stupid. You should end shaking hands, not yelling.

I need people who don't even understand or care about Black history to stop invoking people like MLK to police how and when the oppressed should resist their oppressor.
It's so easy to judge methods of resistance when you're not the one on the chopping block.
What you can control is whether or not you are helping the fascist cause. Are you blaming the people the fascists are scapegoating for fascist violence? Are you blaming people resisting fascist violence for fascist violence? If so, you are helping them.
All of the talk about "peaceful protest" makes me think of all the times I have been part of a protest where the police cracked someone over the head and then charged that person with assault. They will call you violent. You can't control that or other people.
