Got some new stickers printed. Using that fluo pink ink again hehe
Has it influenced your art?
Absolutely yes. I never drew cats until we started doing live draws on insta as an experiment and requests for cats and dogs kept coming in. Now there are cats all over our portfolio and on our webshop.
Glad you found it interesting! Ah that'd be nice. We usually stream 11am-1pm GMT on Thursdays, would be great to have you along.
So... anyone out there adding copyright metadata to their illustrations/artwork?
Hmmm that sounds hard haha
Japan Letter Writing Day, Stamp Sheet, 1999. Illustrated by Dick Bruna designreviewed.com/artefacts/ja... #dickbruna #illustration
ah yes, I probably didn't make this clear but we do stream on twitch and youtube using OBS.
Do you get many viewers? No, we had an average of 17 last yesterday and that is really good for us!
Isn't Twitch evil? Doesn't Amazon own it?
Yes but we aren't sure what other options there are out there. Alternatives such as Kick appear to be even worse.
Anyone got any alternatives other than youtube or insta? also both arguably not nice giant corporations...
Why do you do it continued: it's quite hard to think of new things to draw so getting random prompts from viewers is really fun and refreshing. You end up drawing stuff you would never have thought of!
Why do you do it?
For fun and to connect with friends and followers. We spend our days in our studio and don't see many other people so it's great to have a chat. It's also a bit of a thrill to draw stuff live on camera, it's a bit like playing the guitar or something.
Does it make you much money?
No, almost nothing
other illustrators are often curious about our drawing streams (it's pretty unusual in our line of work). Here are a few answers to often asked questions...
My favourite drawing from the live stream yesterday. Viewer request: "Doctor's waiting room magazine cover".
This was drawn upside down and left-handed.
Interesting how these things work and what google deems to be offensive. A number of followers and people who are sympathetic left negative reviews but none of them used offensive language. We aren't seeking to create some kind of angry pile-on though!
Ah thank you for trying, they must have turned reviews off or something!
Thanks for the kind words! π
Can only assume something similar is probably happening to lots of other artists all the time. We only know because a follower on insta told us.

Yayyyy thank you for entering!
I entered the Yuk Fun @yukfunwow.bsky.social raffle the other week and I won a PRIZE πππ
These gorgeous prints by Allie Oldfield @allieoldfield.bsky.social arrived today (apologies for terrible photo)
Thanks for trying to help but i imagine it'll be blocked by the owners π«
Yes we had the same thing. Very vague
I sort of get it if the reviews aren't about the coffee or the cafΓ© experience. Never really trusted Google reviews but this makes me much more suspicious. Can every business just remove any review it doesn't like?
That is very interesting. Guess they've told Google they are being harassed or something? Thanks for trying!

that's what's so annoying about all this ai "art"
That would be very cool!
I would love to visit and document everything and figure out who else they've ripped off. It would actually be such a nice idea if they did the same thing but with local artists and illustrators who they paid.
Another update: they have had our review removed from Google and any other bad reviews so they now have five stars. We are still blocked by them on instagram and they haven't contacted us to apologise.
haha thanks!
