Sometimes I read conversations between random people online and can feel myself getting dumber.

October has been an absolute shitshow for me the last few years. I'm honestly impressed at how many random threads manage to come together to provide a full-scale assault on my emotions. "Oh, you're at your lowest? Here's several unforeseen and unrelated things that will make you feel EVEN WORSE!" 😀

We're no different than those who came before us. We just have shinier toys.

Me watching the “both sides are bad” crowd be real quiet lately.

If they didn't have a problem overstepping their bounds and making you feel weird in a normal situation, don't have a problem telling them to kiss the brownest part of your ass.

“It’s despicable that people are joking about the flooding in Texas. People LOST THEIR LIVES and it’s not funny, period. If you’re the kind of low-life who laughs at this, unfriend me NOW.”

Me who remembers that they were making fun of the wildfires in California when people were dying:

>person makes a casual racist joke about a situation they don't fully seem to comprehend, citing false sources
>other people bombard them with actual sources with videos and direct quotes about the situation and call them out for the racist remark
>op ignores the convo altogether

Rinse and repeat.

Today, I saw a disabled man on his electric wheelchair make a left-hand turn through a busy intersection with the rest of traffic. Incredible.

My issue with the "both sides are bad" crowd is the lack of criticism of one particular side vs. the other. If you're selling me that as your stance, I'm expecting to see you highlight bullshit as it comes up regardless of where it originates. If you don't, what respect does your opinion garner?

"What a year 2025 has been, huh?" I say for the 10th time this week a month into the year.
