Afasic were at Westminster yesterday at the SEND rally for education, with a huge turnout of parents, carers, children & young people all campaigning for the change that is urgently needed in our SEND system.

Amelias on track to pass her GCSEs.
To Amelia & Claire, ‘ordinary’ means going to secondary school with her sister. It means being able to join in with everyone else at school, like telling jokes for Comic Relief or being in the school play. Every child deserves a chance at ‘ordinary’.

Amelia is a young ambassador at Afasic & has Developmental Language Disorder. In Reception year, she didn’t hit a single EYFS target. But having a EHCP in place before she started primary school made all the difference. Now 13, she goes to mainstream secondary school with her big sister.
