Two more 90s-era metal chaos space marines: a champion with plasma pistol and chainsword, and an icon bearer with a chaos undivided icon. Both are painted in a vaguely night lords kind of scheme.

The chaos champion mini, along with two dark eldar warriors, displayed next to a bottle of Simple Green cleaner.

The minis from the previous picture have been placed in a plastic takeout tub and covered with Simple Green cleaner to (hopefully) help with stripping the testors enamel paint that we painted minis with in my youth.

A few more metal guys… I do want to strip and repaint a lot of these, so they are getting a simple green bath along with some of my old dark eldar to test the effectiveness. Goobertown Brent did a video years ago about stripping Testors enamel paint with this stuff, hope it works!

This pair of Dungeon Meshi anime figures probably come in at the 2nd and 3rd largest miniatures that I've painted. I really am proud of the look of the food as well as my metallic armor (with no metallic pigmented paint) and the texture I brought into it all

Metal chaos marines from around the same time. I love how much variety there is across these guys, their more snout-like masks, and other design elements that don’t really ever appear again. Really looking forward to painting these.

I officially received my 1st dan black belt in #blanchitsu today. These are the Moderin figures, painted on commission for John's personal collection. Great sculpts from @brass0_0monkey and both a joy to paint, and an honour to do for an artist who has inspired my work.

Getting back to chaos, we have this group of eight, the “grey guys”. All are the same 1996 plastic chaos kit (set of 2) with a thousand sons veteran shoulder pad, which @schneety.bsky.social helped identify. It’s a weird fish!

I’m not sure if they were meant to be tsons or if it’s coincidence.

“Pride cometh before the fall”. I finally got Lucius the Eternal done as another big part of my EC army. I dragged my feet on this one because of the complexity of it but I’m really happy with the end result. I decided to go buck wild with bright colours. #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

AP Fanatic :) Undercoat with matte white until you have a consistent base layer, and then a layer or 2 of daemonic yellow.

Five metal eldar battlefleet gothic ships, painted black and red. The flight stands are painted to look like space / stars.

Since I played mostly DE in 3rd edition 40k, I had also picked up some of the metal eldar ships and painted them to look a little more dark eldar-y. All but one of these flight stands snapped, unfortunately.

So, a few glamour shots while I'm trying to figure out how to video this entire army...

First the Saturnine Praetor. Finished incredibly quickly using the same basics as the rest of the army, just a couple highlights on the gold and silver marks the method as different.

(Oh boy, white balance!)

A photo of several chaos space marine minis ordered from left to right - oldest to newest. On the far left is a 1990 rubrik marine from rogue trader, quite small. Then there’s a plastic chaos marine from one of the later 90’s era kits with rubrik marine upgrade parts, about the same scale but maybe slightly larger. After that is a marine from the chaos legionaries box (circa 2019?) which is quite a bit bigger and on a 32mm base. Finally is a marine from the new EC range, which is slightly bigger still.

Well some of you, I guess things are now pretty complicated with the tarifs and Canada Post being on strike. Really not an easy year for zines.

Four chaos battlefleet gothic ships and four imperial, built in different configurations. The chaos ships are painted black and red, and the imperial ships are primed black. All are on flight stands with labels which may not be accurate. There are also some smaller ship tokens.

!battlefleet gothic interlude! one of the things I was really hoping to find when going through all this stuff was this box:

a screenshot of a modern rubrik marine from the GW website, with an arrow indicating the knee armor, which has the same design as the original "tzeentch marine" from the 90s.

I think it's really neat that some elements of these (for example, the ornate kneepad design on the right knee) continues to exist on the current design pretty much unchanged!

A 2nd or 3rd edition era thousand sons sorcerer, primed in white but otherwise unpainted.

The original metal ahriman chaos space marine figure, painted with blue robes and horns in a red to yellow gradient with black trim. His staff and hand have fallen off. The base is painted green with green flocking glued on.

A few tsons characters - a sorcerer (primed) and Ahriman. For a lot of these, I don't remember who painted what, but I do remember painting this Ahriman.
