Tweet screenshot showing a Fox News post about Senator John Fetterman telling Bill Maher that a near-death experience “freed” him to speak out and that progressivism “left him.” Below it, another tweet sarcastically comments, “Brain damage made me conservative.”

Perhaps his fear center in the amygdala was activated while his reasoning center in the prefrontal cortex was impaired? Or maybe he just became mean and weird.

Tweet by No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen referencing cuts to food assistance for hungry children, quoting a report claiming Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth oversaw $93 billion in Pentagon spending in one month, including $2 million on Alaskan king crab. The image shows Hegseth speaking and a photo of king crab legs with sauce.

I was told the GOP cares about fraud, waste and abuse.

Significant tornado threat today across Illinois, especially near I-80, as extreme instability and a lifting warm front create a dangerous setup for strong, long-track tornadoes and destructive hail. Texas also faces a QLCS tornado, hail, and wind threat. Have a safety plan and stay weather aware. 🌪️

Urgent: Historical Society of Alberta has been informed that their funding from the Government of Alberta has been eliminated!

The HSA was founded by our first Premier, Alexander Rutherford, in 1907 and was instrumental in drafting the Historical Resources Act. The HSA includes 5 chapters: The Chinook Country Historical Society (CCHS), Edmonton and District Historical Society (EDHS), The Lethbridge Historical Society (LHS), Central Alberta Historical Society (CAHS) and Peace Country Historical Society (PCHS).

The Historical Society of Alberta has survived world wars and depressions, but it might not survive Budget 2026. Don’t let our story end here. Heritage isn’t a line item; it’s our foundation. 119 years of history erased in one budget.

The committee reviews this budget on Wednesday. Please take 2 minutes to call and email Minister Tanya Fir-@tanyafirab, and tell her that Alberta’s history is not a “luxury” to be trimmed.

Smith says she's cutting access to social support programs because she "heard that people were moving here just to be on social programs."

This sort of hearsay framing is a dangerous rhetorical device employed by populists. Consider Donald Trump. +

Congress Is Considering Abolishing Your Right to Be Anonymous Online The bipartisan push to remove anonymity from the internet is ushering in an era of unprecedented mass surveillance and censorship.

"Stripping anonymity from the internet would constitute one of the most sweeping rollbacks of civil rights in recent history. It would allow for unprecedented levels of mass surveillance and censorship, endangering the most marginalized members of society."
