Like obviously some things need fixing, but I worry the stance of "throw it all away and start over" really only benefits the powerful who can influence what the starting over looks like

The revolutionary figure stance is that the systems are broken and need fixing, but many systems just need better enforcing and updates to modern challenges. Like the law is that LE can't impinge on all personal rights. Great, get judges to enforce that. The backbone isn't so broken as to be trod on

Yeah, I don't exactly understand who is behind the no kings etc, and that makes me a bit wary despite it probably being a necessity, but I'm also very glad they are happening

That's a fair point, like there is definitely a cost to having a figure head, especially when you don't just get free press by saying outlandish things

Or is there just a genuine risk that the longer you are in the spotlight, the longer the misinformation and harassment machine had to break you before important dates like elections?

Does anyone feel like they are good at organizing in the face of all of this? Is the scale of it the problem? It feels intractable? Or is there an intimidation angle of putting yourself in the cross hairs?

Like I see crime after crime, violations of human rights, but there has to be some level of organizing to support these victims and maybe hold the perpetrators one day accountable. And there are resources, I have resources, but I don't know where to put them except very locally

Like who is documenting all of the wrongs, who is spreading the resources of the people willing to give their time and money to support their country and neighbors?

I guess I also don't see any clear organizing force in the democrats either. Like collective statements here and there, but not really organizing

Yeah, I also have a low tolerance for news as is given how bleak it is, so I'm almost embarrassed to ask this in case it's just slipped past me

Also, is it weird to anyone else just how disorganized the opposition feels? Is there an information gap and it's better than I think?

There should be strong coalitions with so much for so many to agree on

I've been so overwhelmed by the societal implications of AI I forgot about the theological. Now I really need to know how all the religions are interpreting it, especially for followers who question its sentience etc

Not the enshitification of patreon... I can't imagine people *want* to browse recommendations on patreon like a menu of people to give money to? Like surely most people decide they like a creator and then go to patreon to support them?
