Iowa doesn't have enough OB-GYNs. Is the state's abortion ban part of the problem? Iowa ranks last among states for the number of OB-GYNS per capita. State legislators are trying to recruit more, but some doctors say the state's strict abortion ban is partially to blame.

A million veterans gave DNA for medical research. Now the data is in limbo Retired service members donated genetic material to a DNA database to help answer health questions for all Americans. The Trump administration is dragging its heels on agreements to analyze the data.

Following the 23andMe bankruptcy, good stewardship of public genomic databases is all the more important.

Yes, as was said in the hearing and in accompanying written testimony, 23andMe has 15 million customers, but this implicates millions more people’s genetic data because of relatedness.

State begins rolling out expanded student visa vetting β€” starting with Harvard The State Department issued instructions to consulates and embassies late Thursday telling them to start the vetting immediately.

β€œThe cable also instructs consular officers to inform applicants with private social media accounts that they could be viewed as evading vetting” - penalizing individuals for simply protecting their privacy is absurd

Love this. In his β€œI Agree” installation Dima Yarovinsky-Yahel took the content from terms of service statements for companies like Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Tinder and printed them out on A4 paper with a standard font size for legal contracts to demonstrate the length of these agreements.
